Scope Mounting Question 200Stevens .243
« on: December 06, 2008, 10:49:02 AM »
How can I mount a 50MM scope on a 200 Stevens.  Any ideas so far there is not enough clearance.

Medium Burris signature z rings will not be high enough, they just clear on my Savage 10 with a 40mm AO scope, guess you will have to use high rings to get the 50mm scope to clear the barrel.  Larry

Ring height needed will depend on the base/bases.  I've got 44mmAO and 50mm objective scopes mounted on heavy barrel Savages with medium Burris Sig Zee rings and EGW 25 MOA bases.  If you don't have clearance now you need either rings or bases that are taller.

Yup, medium height rings will be fine. I am using Warne medium on my 200 and they are perfect.
