odd lenght barrel

my   son  has  a marlin 336
30-30
18  inch barrel
strait grip
bought  20 years  ago used

any thing  unique  about  this or  the barrel  length?

I have one just like that .. dose it have a 4shot  half magizine tube.. I perferr mine to a regular 336. I got mine a a gun show years back  i belive it was a 336 built for wal mart.

The straight stock Marlins are referred to as "Texans" They came with 16 1/4" - 18.5" and 20" barrels.
They have a pretty good following and will usually bring/cost more than a pistol gripped 336 of the same period.

Here is my 1969 Texan it is a 30-30 with 20" barrel with saddle ring.
