Does the 2a. allow us an armed defense against a government run amuck?

If the Second Amd. (not to be infringed) was to allow us an armed defense against (our?) government gone amuck, how is it that the judicial branch gets to interpret the 2a.?

Does the citizenry grant them the privilege or do they have a right to do so?

Does it seem like the fox guarding the henhouse to you?

The job of SCOTUS is to interpret any laws in relation to the laws set down by the Constitution as to their legallity.
This is why it is so important this branch isnt corrupted by Justices who are biased to the will of any one group.
The 2nd only came up because of continuing abuse by States and Municipality's being criminal in passing any laws banning the ability for you to defend yourself with a gun.
Its a case that never should be even brought up ,the Ones who enact these laws should be arrested as crimminals.

Yea like they just arrested the mayors of n.y.c. and chicago for ignoring the heller decision. The second was wrote to insure that you have a gun to overthrow an oppressive government, Study the writings of jefferson.

Yea and like Obama hasnt come up with a birth certificate eiather.
And that he has broken every law this Country ever had.
But laws are only for us Conservatives to live by ,Liberals are exempt.

I think the whole thing ran amuck when the American public accepted "Interpret" as the verb that described the  duties of SCOTUS.  Their duty is not in fact to "Interpret" but to guard and protect the tenacity of the Constitution.  At least that is what our for fathers intended.  Their primary constitutional duty is to judge as to whether or not the laws that are brought before them fit within the framework of the rights laid down by the Constitution.

The constitution was written for the people of the US.  It says what it means and means what it says and frankly I find it fairly easy to comprehend even thought the writing and language style has changed over time.  There is nothing there to really "Interpret".

If SCOTUS had done their job properly down through the years The 1934 Firearms Act, the 1968 Firearms Act and the Brady Act would all have been shot down.  The BATFE would be nothing more than a bunch of bean counting tax collectors keeping track of alcohol and tobacco tax revenues.

Get ready for some nut to start shooting up a mall or a School again.
The guy at the Mall in Salt lake ended up at the County Morgue ,and the Lab started blood work as standard procedure right after Death.
Thats as far as they got , the body was moved ,and no one knew the blood had been sent to the Lab across town.
Besides the other Meds there was one they couldn't identify ,before the clamp down the Coroners office attempted to track this guy to see what Doctor gave him this so it could be identified.
They hit a dead end, except the fact this guy was a bum ,and in no way had the money to buy these weapons.
The Police couldn't find the guns as stolen ,an Officer on the sight was smart enough to copy the Ser. numbers before the Feds got there.

This guy was a no body ,the Feds searched his place and took about everything he had.
The drug finally surfaced as a drug used in the 60s as an experimental treatment for Mental patients because it made them susceptible to suggestion and could modify their behavior.
The failure of the drug was that it intensified the illness by only directing it in a different direction.
Get set to see this again.
The Media is now reporting even the smallest shooting incidents.

A shooting like this would just make Obama stand up behind his fake podium and make a statement that the 2nd Amendment needs to be removed and all firearms in private possession are to be banned and confiscated.
This will be met with an arousing applause ,and Pelosi and Bush will jump right on it.
SCOTUS , was today to receive Obamas Birth Certificate  ,so far not a word on this.
The SC is by its existence to enforce this ,but if nothing happens it will show us that we no longer have any form of the Government we once had.
Most Americans will not even notice this at all.
