EAA Witness 45ACP

I was wondering if anyone has a EAA Witness full size stainless steel 45ACP. I am thinking about buying one but I really do not know anything about them. So if someone can give me the good and the bad on this brand it will be greatly appreciated.

I had a Witness compact "bastard" in 9mm. It was absolutely reliable with factory or handloads and 3" groups at 25 yards were about the worst, inch and a half  was common with ammo it liked. I would still have it but for the fact that it was all steel and quite heavy for a carry gun. They are very well made guns.

My son has one, he swears by it!!   I have shot it a few times, nice handling gun but a little on the heavy side.

If the price is right, i wouldn't back away from one.

Haven't seen a Witness in stainless. I have a .45 fullsize in "Wonder Finish". Excellent pistol, can't think of any reason not to recommend it. Accurate, reliable, and great ergonomics.

Nice thing about the EAA, you can get conversion kits for them in 9mm,38 super, 40 cal and I think they used to have a conversion for 22 cal.

I have the full-size in 45ACP and the compact in 40S&W, both in Wonder finish steel. They,IMHO, are the best deal out there. As has been mentioned they lean to the heavy side. Both of mine are accurate and dependable. I do not hesitate to recommend them.

Yep! Have had one for many years, best deal on the market. Have never had a FTF even with some really bad reloads. If it will go in the chamber it fires. I shoot at a range where there are many expensive .45's and mine will keep up with and is more accurate than many. Mine is not for sale, recommend you get it. If we ever have a SHTF situation I'll go for my Witness every time.

Thanks everyone for all the information. I was wrong on the finish, it is the Wonder finish they offer. I went ahead and purchased the one I was looking at. It is a used gun but it is in excellent condition and it cost $275.00 which is pretty good for these parts. Hopefully I will get a chance to shoot it at the range next week.

I had a .40 and it was the worst gun I ever bought. Accuracy was a joke, and the magazine would disengage every 8 to 10 rounds. Traded it in (took a beating) on a S&W 19. Now that was an excellent gun!

I got to take it out the other day and I was very impressed with the accuracy from both ball and hollowpoint ammo. It is the most accurate 45ACP I have owned so far clearly shooting better than the Ruger P90 and Kimber BP Pro Ten II that I use to have as neither were very accurate and they both would jam with ball ammo.

I bought one in 9mm and it worked great. I liked it enough that I bought another in 45.
It had some kind of problem where the hammer would hang up on something part way down and fall the rest of the way whenever it felt like it. It was sporadic in occurence and EAA wasn't much help so I traded it back to the local dealer that also was of no help with it. It wasn't very accurate either.

Believe it or not that was a completely accurate description of a happening.
I understood and I even remembered too take my meds :D.
I was under the impression that the EAA frames are investment cast. That is not necessarily a bad thing, though, there are some poor investment castings on the market.
