I have a buddy that has an old 257 Weatherby mark 5 with the 1-12 barrel and that is all that he shoots. I don't know what his load is but I can tell you that the 100gr tsx has done very well for him on deer.

In the Republik of Kalifornia we had to go to nonlead bullets in the "Condor Range". I use the Barnes 100gr TSX in my 25-06. I load 52 grains of IMR4831 with Winchester WLR primers. This load chronographed at 3331 fps with less than .75" three shot groups.
Hunting and fishing are not matters of life or death. They are much more important than that.

I was able to take 3 deer last year with this bullet. I use it in a 25 wssm at 3250 fps. They do very well.

I have an old Browning BBR and it prefers 100 grain bullets.  I've not tried the TRX.

I loaded some for my brother's Sendero for a WY. Mule Deer/Antelope we did 3 years ago. I loaded the 115TSX for my Sendero for the same hunt. It appeared the 100 gr. was not a powerhouse over 300 yards, it killed everything it hit, but not overwhelming. The 115 was a better performer at a distance.

I have killed several big Mo. whitetails with the .257 Wby and 100 TSX combo, some as far as 450 yards.  I like it a lot for open field hunting, or antelope and mulies.  Mine goes 3600 fps with RL22 and a 26 in. barrel.
