turkey decoys

just wondering what are you're favorite decoys and why? when do you use use them and why? I for one haven't much luck with decoys the last two years, maybe the birds are just decoy shy

Before the commercial version of Pretty Boy came out my father and I made our own.  Each year we fix up the paint and replace broken feathers and they're good to go.  Usually I use it in conjunction with a hen decoy but not always.  There seems to be two important factors: a good black sheen on the paint, and real tail feathers.  Those feathers will blow in the wind and dominate toms simply can't resist.  About half the time they come in they will attack the decoy.  Sometimes they peck it, sometimes the flog it.
