anyone have a good load for a tc scout .50 carbine. would really love to get mine finally shooting.

whats it doing?  or not doing.  are you using round ball an if so are you bolwing patches.  as a side note load a little hornets nest over the ball or mimi and you will solve many blown patches problems.  more info please

Lots of luck in getting the T/C Scout to even go bang. That was an exceptionally stupid design. Fire from the cap has to jump a gap, pass two side vents, travel down a long tube and through a small orifice before reaching the powder charge. A slight hangfire is considered good from a Scout, long hangfires and complete misfires are more common. I have a permanent tattoo under my right eye caused by blow-back from the only time I ever fired a T/C Scout, fortunately I always wear glasses or I would have lost at least one eye. My best advise for your Scout is to polish it up real nice and hang it on the wall.

it fires off just fine without any hang up. its just not shooting a group at a hundred yards shooting like 5in. hoping for better

OK I have owned one for about 12 or so years and this is my load I use 70 Grain of black powder and a 230 grain hornady 45 hollow point .451 DIA. caliber pistol round and a mmp sabot the scout is only recommended to shot a 100 grain powder charge MAX! mine did not like pirodex or American black powder to much delay. at a hundred yards i hold 3"  with a fore end rest only i have killed every deer i have ever  shot at with her Yes i have had miss fires RAIN WET SNOW Not firing a three primers fist before loading her to dry her out do not bring her inside after it gets acclimated to outside temps and load it after she is acclimated to the outside temps only also get some piano wire to keep the spark hole  clean .yes shine her up but dont hange it on the wall use it and have fun killing with it . if you have eny more Questions ask me
