H&R's since the Remington take over?
« on: November 27, 2008, 02:50:13 AM »
Just curious, what are the opinions of those who have purchased Ilion manufactured Handi's?

Have  you noticed any difference in fit, finish or materials such as replacing metal sites with plastic, etc.?

Here is an update since the move.

Probably won't see anything until after the new models come out for 2009 I would imagine.
My culled down Handi's are the 45-70, and then I have a few others to keep it company...357 Mag/Max. .45 LC/.454 Casull Carbine, .243 Ultra, and 20 gauge Tracker II.

Thanks Jimbo.   I guess Ilion has not started production yet. Sounds like positive changes are being planned.  There is something to be said for a stainless steel gun but I tend to be a traditionalist when it comes to my single shot and bolt action long guns, I love the look of real wood and blued steel.

CC sidearms are a whole other story, plastic and stainless steel all the way baby.
