That guard is really long, and would result in a pouch sheath with a huge opening which might make the knife less secure because of all the mostly empty space. I have an early Buck Zipper, basically the same knife with a guthook, and the sheath is well designed to hold that style. What puzzles me is why the guard is that long; I mean it's not a fighting knife. I occasionally make a knife with a small guard, but it's just enough to keep your finger from slipping, and a pouch is no problem. I dunno, I've often been tempted to grind down the guard on my Zipper, but since I don't care for it, nor have I used it in probably 12/13 years, it's not worth the effort. Then I would have to make a new sheath for it.
