Hi All, great forum!
I just attended my first match this past July. What a blast! I'm hooked. It all started like this: I was surfin' on the web one day lookin’ up CAS (not at work of course) and found a club 15 minutes away! They invited me to watch and after that I went home and started spending! I didn’t have any cowboy caliber guns so I haaddd to go out and get some. I got 2 EMF 4 5/8” Dakotas in 45LC and the all brass Hartford ’92 carbine in 45. I’m real pleased with the quality of these guns. The pistols took some tweaking to get’em hitting the point of aim and I opened up the “V” notch on the frame get a better sight picture. I also had to modify the rear sight of the ’92, I never could shoot buckhorns worth a darn. Shooting the 45LC thru the rifle is a lot of fun, its quickly becoming my favorite shooter. Oh yeah, I also got a hammerless baikal coach gun (not worth writing much about that one). Its now obvious that I need to reload…..so I set myself up for that. My wife says I spent so much money that I better go out and shoot or she’ll be pissed! Life is good. The club is the Homesteaders in CT. and what nice bunch of people. Everyone new I was the new guy and they even clapped when I finished my first stage (maybe they were clapping because everybody was still standing when it was over). I’m really looking forward to this months shoot. Lets see…..now I need to make a cart, then maybe some new leather, then maybe chaps for the colder months, eventually a ’97 or a ’66….Yee Haw!!!
