Mounting a 50mm scope on a Stevens 200
« on: December 06, 2008, 10:21:12 AM »
I have a Stevens 200 cheap gun but shoots like a $1000.00 Gun its a .243.  I have a 50mm Whitetail Classic 6.5-20X50.  I am trying to mount the scope but cannot seem to get enough clearance.  What bases and rings are out there to get enough clearance?  Thank You.

This site can give you an idea.  Pick a rifle similar to yours and a 50mm scope on a 1" tube.

I expect you will need high rings.  It matters what base you use also.

My rem 700 243 heavy barrel has weaver style bases
and high burris signature zee rings the ones with plastic inserts.
and a mueller 8.5-25x50 and it just clears the slip on covers.
I would thinka set up in that balpark should work.
this gets to be  down rite a pain in the a$$ sometimes
with how they lable these parts.I have medium rings that are lower
than some low rings Maybe mismarked or? but still a pain.
I stoped ordering rings as I never get lucky I just go to the gun shop and I
have what fits when I get home,Good luck and happy shootin ;D

With Burris Z rings medium Z rings and medium signature Z rings are different heigths.  Larry
