Old dogs CAN learn new tricks!
« on: August 12, 2003, 03:54:58 PM »
After more'n 20 years of Service Rifle, last Sunday I shot a personal best with my Rock River CMP gun. 780-13X over the NRA 800 agg course!

FWIW, it's taken me almost a year to "unlearn" the M14 and decipher the mysteries of The Plastic Unmentionable but I'm here to tell you, they just plain SHOOT! Geez, for $800 or so you can buy a rifle that shoots well enough to take to Perry!

Kidding aside, I really do have at least one Quantico-built double lug M1A up for sale. McMillan, stainless Krieger (1433 rds) and all the full-house mods, spare op rod, mags, maybe ammo if interested. $1300 American, trades considered.

That is a terriffic score. I salute you!!!! :-) You might make the Presidents 100 at Perry ,if you keep that up.
I'm still shooting the M-1 Rifle. About 80-85% is my best on the 800 agg course. I haven't been shooting that lately, due to health. I hope to return though.
Good shooting to you,& I hope to hear from you again. :D

Why, thank you sir! Very kind of you.

Hope your health improves enough to see you back out among the sunburned bretheren!

We're having to consider canceling matches up here with the fires going like they are. I had to cancel two in 2000 when the Forest Service closed access to my range. I guess we'll shoot highpower in Spring and Fall and indoor smallbore in Summer & Winter! Snow, fires, what's next? Locusts?

Cheers!

It is unfortunate that the Forrest Service can't thin the timber. Some people don't understand that thick underbrush lets fires run wild. I hope things work out up there.
That is such pretty country. :D
