NEF & marlin

I have a Marlin 12g and was wondering if they NEF barrles will fit it.  I found a good deal on this gun some time ago and got it for my grandfather,  when he passed  Igot it back and have put it to use on many of qual and grouse.  But I am wondering if I can get a slug brl for it to do some deer kill'n in Ohio.
