Hey guys. I thought I would pass this along. I visited Jay's Sporting Goods in Clare, MI this morning for the first time. They have a 550 FS in .308 that is slightly used (very slightly, apparently) going for $500. It's the first one I ever handled, so I can't say how it compares to a new one. But the wood was very good 95-100%. Only issue was that the checkering was a little sketchy in a couple of places. The metal was also 95-100%. The only thing I noticed was a very small faded area on the barrel right behind the rear sight. The trigger was great, the bolt was crisp and smooth. The magazine ejected cleanly and inserted easily. Obviously, I don't know how it would feel when cycling cartridges, but I imagine it would be just fine. My wife will KILL me if I try to buy it, so someone else needs to before I do something stupid
