I just moved to NIS from F Secure. What a difference!
Much less overhead, the machine loads faster, and runs better, and it found all kinds of crap that had built up on my machine.
I'm not saying it's perfect, just that it's better IMO than F Secure.
My computer had gotten so slow that I was thinking of getting rid of it.
Turns out it was all the Trojan horse bugs, adds and crap, on top of the overhead the machine was carrying.
Cost was $69 CDN at Staples Business Depot.

Spybot and Adaware for junk

"Kaspersky" .... is leading the way in anti-virus and spyware right now .... right now I got Vista and running "Windows Live One Care" as for the "junk"  pills mentioned - he gots the right idea - run more then just one "adware" program - what one won't pick up the other will - and to date not one adware program will find all the "junk" - 'Ad-Aware Se' by Lavasoft and Spybot "Search and Destroy" are in my opinion the best right now ... and both are free ....

Since my first post I've had problem after problem with NAV. And, after a few updates, it's as slow as ever!
I paid for it, and I'll use it until the subscription is up, but that's it.

I still use spybot, and adaware, and both have found stuff regardless of what else I use.

Guess it's a little late now but thought you might like to know that you can get NIS for free all the time on Buy.com.  They offer rebates on Norton products all the time.  They even offer the 3 user edition for free after rebates.  You might want to check there next time you need it, if you decide to stay with it.

overhead issues, slowing down my computer, and issues with parts of the program that didn't work, have forced me to stop using NIS, when my subscription to the updates ended.
I now use AVG, along with Spybot, Adaware, and a number of other freeware programs to keep my system clean.
So far, it's given me a faster system, with no issues.

Same here.  I've used Norton for many years, but finally had to clean it out.   Now I use the free version of AVAST, along with Spybot, Adaware .
