Yesterday was the last day of our first one week doe season, the only day I could hunt. I hunted with the G2 wearing the MGM 30-30IMP topped with a Burris 3X12 scope. The morning being cold 20deg., with about 4" of crunchy snow ruled out stalking as they could here you coming a mile away. I took up a position in the head of a hollow where if moving they normally crossed. But as my luck would have it they were crossing this morning about 100yds. away in the thick making shot placement almost impossible. So I moved my posisition into the ruff almost in the trail they were traveling. It only took about 30min. after setting up here come 5 doe right down the same trail. With the G2 scope set on 3 power the lead doe was a nice one for this area. With my back to a tree I rested the G2 30-30IMP in the custom made Underwood shooting sticks, with the cross hairs settled dead center the front does chest I waited until the front she was 30 to 40 feet from me to assure a clear shot thru the ruff. At the drop of the hammer the Nosler 125gr. B-Tip took her front and center, Bang/Flop, DOA, the way I like it done. As the Neug would say, OK backstrap, we will be eating good tonight, long live the beast!!!!
