remington bottom metal question
« on: December 10, 2008, 07:06:00 PM »
can an action that came from the factory, set up with a (dbm) detachable box magazine be converted to a adl/bdl without machining work being done to the feed rails?  how about the reverse?    thanks--jim

No. The factory cuts the feed rails away on the DBM models and that's the only way they will work. Since the factory magazines are so lousy, I usually use an HS Precision DBM setup for sporter rifles and a Badger setup with AI mags for tactical rifles if the owner wants a change. Both of these center feed magazine setups work way better than the factory Remington stagger feed boxes.
