December 12, Good morning GBO
« on: December 12, 2008, 02:32:13 AM »
Well its a nice 15* brisk morning here in the Flathead area, as we prepare for the artic cold front that is headed this way.  Lucky guy's those down in Texas  ::) well the coffee is going to be on, and we will just see what mother nature blows in.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for western and central Montana from midnight Friday through 11 p.m. Saturday.

There is a potential for three to six inches of snow in the valleys and 12 inches or more over the mountains.

Strong north winds will produce dangerously cold wind chills and ground blizzards. Temperatures will fall to 20 below Sunday morning and 30 below by Monday morning.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for Beaverhead, Madison and Gallatin counties from 5 a.m. Saturday to 11 p.m. Saturday.

I was going through the TSA security at Pasco Airport this morning.  The TSA guy looked at my Montana drivers license and saw I was Cut Bank.  He said isn't that place that always gets those record cold temeparatures.   Yep says I.  He said . kinda pround like that it was supposed get cold in Pasco this weekend, they were expecting single digit temperatures.  Oh I said, not us we are gonna just have double digit temperatures. He gave me a funny look and they the light went on and he said you mean minus double digits don't you.  'Well yes!" I said. His smug look quickly disappeared as the people in line behind me got a good chuckle.

It started snowing about 7 PM  and is about 27 degrees with 4 inches of snow on the ground right now.  It's nice to be home, and not have to go to work in the morning.
