Remington Rolling Block Take-Down Rifle
« on: August 08, 2003, 07:52:00 AM »
Greetings!

Has anyone every seen, examined, or even HEARD of a Remington Rolling Block Number 1 factory-made take-down or switch barrel rifle?

I know about the Number 4 rifles, of course, but they are miniature rolling blocks in the small rimfire calibers.

Can you think of any reason why it would NOT be practicable to build a custom Number One Rolling Block take-down rifle?

Curious John

Interesting question John.  I've never come across mention of one in my reading.  I'll ask my friend the rolling block guru (and heck of a gunsmith) Glenn Fewless about the feasibility of a switch-barrel roller at our BPCR match in a couple of weeks.  He loves unusual guns!
