Yes, my friend has wore two different one out.
One was a 7.5" 44mag he bought used and the other was a new 357mag.
I have shot two 45 colts loose.

The hammer and trigger mating surfaces will be the first to go but that's with HEAVY use. If you're going to shoot that much, get a new model and wear that out.
