Three Big Boxes
« on: December 10, 2008, 03:48:30 AM »
Came to my door via UPS yesterday . I tippy toed out into the snow when I saw them coming , to make sure they found my house .

"Somehow" that great gift ordered my wife had TURNED ITSELF into a Confederate Parrot gun of the 1/3 scale and 10 lb varitiy .

From Dom Carpenter too ! In all seriousness Dom is an artist in steel , I'm very happy with it ,to put it mildly, it is posted in a differant post I have no camera .

As I hope to get my wife a camera for Christmas , hopefully it doesn't turn itself into a twin trailed Rev. Howie ....on the way home .  She's a lucky woman  :-*!

She's a bute Dominick ,Thanks Again ;D

Mr president I do not cling to either my gun or my Bible.... my gun is holstered on my side so I may carry my Bible and quote from it!

Maybe if a certain "new cannon" owner were to call the two cannon makers about 20 miles south of his location, they would agree to loan their canon camera to him for a photo session if they can come along with it to see Dom's latest masterpiece.  Blanks in the backyard??

Congratulations Gary, it sure looks good.  Do you have a lead mold lined up yet?  We think golf balls will be just a mass of burning rubber bands past the muzzle face!  Besides you need ammo with a lot more sectional density for any long range accuracy.  We can see big holes blown in some high plains snow drifts already!  You do remember taking down a few 50 foot long cliff-side icicles at 10,000 feet with the 1797 4" mortar 30 years ago don't you?

Lookin good!!

Mike and Tracy
Smokin' my pipe on the mountings, sniffin' the mornin'-cool,
I walks in my old brown gaiters along o' my old brown mule,
With seventy gunners be'ind me, an' never a beggar forgets
It's only the pick of the Army that handles the dear little pets - 'Tss! 'Tss!

Better B.C.'s and sectional densities are only any good if a barrel were say ....rifled , Hummm  where can a body find a rifling machine ????? ;)

Dominick,

You didn't say in the first post, what the combined weight of the barrel and carriage is. Did the man in brown leave more than his footprints in the snow when he carried Rocklock's treasure to his door?
RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

The one thing that you can almost always rely on research leading to, is more research.

The two UPS drivers were thrilled to know they delivered a cannon . They kept saying " a CANNON ,CANNON ?"

I said yep they said "Oh cool,I am happy to deliver it !" they even carried it inside for me .

BTW ,stand by for a "Full Page Spread" , as a couple of local cannon makers ,and members of this board , came over today and took lots of pics and studied it up ,down ,right ,left AND center .......Have you guys ever seen a "Smart Car" ?

I must say they "haul the frieght" :D ,some towed behind and some inside !!!!! :o

In all sincerity ,I had a great time with Mike and Tracy , and was very proud when they both said , "It looks great !"
Thanks agian Dom , you ARE the man . Gary

I really like the site mechanism on this Parrot. The whole thing just looks great. Plenty of breech here . I bet its going to pack a wallup at the range !
