Browning X Bolt opinions wanted

I'm thinking about a new 7mm mag. stainless X bolt. Anyone had good or bad experiences with this rifle?

i had an a-bolt that was the most accurate rifle i have ever shot. it put 3 shots into .250 of an inch at 100 yards with its chosen load it liked.

it also was very good with regard to fit and finish. i have not ever owned or shot a browning i didn't like.

they're very well-made and i am certain the x-bolt is no different.

...I had a chance to handle one only, lighter than it appears in a Medallion 30-06 example. I like the stock configuration, the catalog photos do not do it justice.

The stock foresection is handfilling wide with nice full checkering and scalloped areas just under the barrel for fingers. The grip area has a swell on the right filling my hand with my finger tip falling naturally at the trigger. The wood area around the action is nicely rounded and easy to to hold in one hand, a little fatter than a typical flat sided stock..

The safety is a two position tang version though the bolt has a button allowing cycling in the safe position. Bluing is first rate. I have not read said about these 3 lug actions though I have not talked to anyone who has ever had an issue with reliability.

I like their detachable magazine version, it's release is in front and the magazine pivots down but does not drop out. It needs to be pulled out of the opening, very little effort needed, but you will not have to worry about it inadvertently falling out if the catch is hit. The polymer mag does not stagger rounds but fed straight in, much like Steyr's I have.

My unscientific throw-it-up-to-the-shoulder test shows me Browning built a nicely balanced rifle with their typical great gloss finish on nice wood. The recoil pad is one of those new technology soft-absorb versions and would seem to be a good match for a 30.06. I would scope it in a good 2.5x8 scope, the balance would be unaffected.

I would have to be careful how I throw it around in a hunt because it looks so nice. This is my primary gripe about any rifle that looks so good, almost like jewelry but this appears to be a well made, well designed Browning.

I have the 300 Win Mag by Savage. I've had three barrels on it so far. I just love to shoot it. I've killed a deer at a little over 200 yds. I also redid the stock. Its not the X Bolt but I like it.

I had to set the sights on my friends new x-bolt today.  Great feeling rifle, his was a hunter with wood stock and and looked like a matte finished barrel.  It was a 308 with a Nikon 3-9-40 scope with the BDC recticle.  The rifle shot excellent, was very accurate considering he only had one type of bullet to shoot in it.  They were the Federal power shok with 150 gr. bullets.  I've had good luck with all the browning rifles I have had.  An a-bolt in 270 and an a-bolt in 260.  The x-bolt seems to be a great rifle.  If I had the extra money laying around i'd own one myself.
