I always thought the Dan Wesson concept was a good one even though I was never crazy about the way the revolver looked. A friend of mine had the Pistol Pack and we used to enjoy changing the barrels and shooting the different lengths.

I don't know why DW never made it, I think they went out of business and then resurfaced for a while.
I believe CZ-USA must own the brand now as they manufacture the DW Autos but, alas, no revolvers.

The revolvers do show up for sale every now and then.

Don't like the way they look?

I like them but I guess to each his own.

The palmer, Mass. guns got a bad reputation and I think it fell apart then.

Ive never had one but remember hearing good things about them.maybe the bad outweighed the good?always liked the way they looked and handled. seems like sum guys got good ones and sum guys got bad ones.i liked the interchangeable barrel thing but never really seen a need for it.

I used to have a stainless Dan Wesson 44 Mag with a full lug 6" bbl
years ago. It was a beast. It tipped the scales at around 60 oz empty!
It was accurate and well made. It wasn't too practical for the type
of shooting I liked to do at the time, so I sold it. If I am ever in the
market for another 44 Mag I will be looking at a Ruger Super Blackhawk.

The DW revolvers ruled IHMSA for years, and that client base helped keep them afloat.  When silhouette shooting lost it popularity that client base, and all the free advertising in the slicks, dried up.  I still own an 8" M45 and it is frighteningly accurate at 200 meters with a 300 LFN at 1080 fps.  It is too big to carry for most hunting, IMO.
