recut Lyman blocks
« on: December 09, 2008, 01:46:55 AM »
Hi Veral, do you recut other maker's blocks? I have a 4 cavity old Lyman mould that someone really buggered up. Hate to see it just sit there, when it could be made up into something larger.
Thanks!

The only 'other' makers molds which I've recut are Magma for the automatic casters and hand caster, and Saeco blocks which are the same size.  I would have to make up tooling to recut any others, but will not do it because I consider most if not all the others inferior in the sprueplate setup.  I don't want anything but top quality going out of my shop, and good mold blanks and sprue plate design are the building platform which MUST be top quality or quality of the cavities will be comprimised.

Thanks, that's what I figured but it can't hurt to ask.
