Couple Targets 7.62x39 groups
« on: December 24, 2008, 06:36:46 AM »
Ok, I need to set his up correctly.  I was at my Dads house over Thanksgiving.  We set up a target DRAWN y my son at 50 yds --- give take-- and set up on the picnic table...the CHEAP thin top table....that wobbles with your heartbeat.

This was a test grouping shot for CVZV and also MrBigTexan to show a few varieties....

Following see groupings...I will explain a little more later.....Remember That regardless of where the bullet impacts my duty was to pull the trigger on the same SPOT each time.

Cool, got them on the first try.   In MOST shots I needed to hold POA at the TOP of the 8.5x11 piece of paper and not at the "target" drawn.

I shot to 5 shot groups of Reloads with Ranier bullets...I noticed these were not as "perfect" as others.  Groupings were still OK but thats it, OK.

I shot a 4 shot grouping of some Olympic x39, ALL ignited perfect first strike and groupings were "fair".

I also shot some Reloads that were "reduced" more and had a BEAUTIFUL 4 shot grouping working and thought about skipping the 5th shot.......I pulled it NE by about 2".  DANG.

American Eagle FMJ factory ammo performed VERY well indeed right out of the box.  I reload with SP but have considered pulling down some of my Wolf Ammo and using components as well.

This is REALLY enjoyable....all my Rossi's are topped with Simmons Master series 3-9-50 scopes.  I will shoot mor this weekend and am Bringing .308 as well...just not as much variety in ammo.
