that the Venado Grande ranch in semi S. Tx is over loaded with hogs.  I nailed two the trip I took there last Nov and would have taken more if they would have let me.  I can look for their info and send it to you or post it here.  I know they are going to have a one doe and unlimited hogs hunting coming up this coming deer season.  If all you want is hogs they have that too I think.  Also,  Cougar Run Ranch in Cleveland Tx has hog hunts and I think they have a special thin em out offer going on.  They have two ranches, one archery only, and the other is firearms or archery.

Although Marc's suggestion is great, I'm not really sure that you need to go anywhere.

Why?  Well, even you yourself said that you have seen many signs of hogs.  That means that they are there.  What you need to do is focus on technique.

Go to the location where you said that you saw the signs of them walking around.  Then, put out a bunch of corn and pour some honey over it.  Go back every day, if you can, and see if they ate the corn.  If they did, continue speading out corn (the more the better), and come back again.

Hogs usually walk around and feed all day but are more active during the early morning and late afternoon, especially under this hot Texas sun.  As such, hunt during these times, close to the baited area, and you should see the hogs roll in.

Believe me, if I saw signs of hogs, I would do the same thing and I promise you that I would get one much sooner than later (which means that I would stuff my freezer sooner than later. )

  Thanks for the advice!   I believe i would have more success inthe areas i have been hunting if i did what you said but the area is an hour and a half away and I have to pay 50 bucks a day to hunt it. That is probally the plight of all of us city folk. But i really would appreicate any posts or emails of areas ,web sites, or phone numbers of places that are  more af a sure thing for my buck.

I will continue to work on my techniq and believe me when i get one it will be posted on ever hunt site there is. Thanks all!!

Thanks in advance!

gcf.....Here's some info on the Annual Public Hunting (Type II)  http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/hunt/public_hunting/#aph

The license fee has gone from $40 to $48 dollars.  You can get the permit from Texas Parks and Wildlife.  I think you can probably get the permit from Wal-Mart as well.

Oh yeah, almost forgot.  While you are in the TPWD site check out the drawing for public hunts.  The application fee is only $3 and if you get drawn most of the hunts are $75 for a 2 day hunt.
