FA cross-draw holster
« on: December 11, 2008, 03:19:16 PM »
I just love my new FA Cross-draw holster.  If anyone out there is thinking about buying one, I give it a two thumbs up.  It somehow seems to make the gun lighter somehow.  It's weird.  Anyone out there agree?

Ive got the cross draw holster for my FA83 .475 L.  Like you, I really like mine.

Only drawback found was on long hikes in the mountains it would begin to bother the top of my pelvis.  After doing a little experimenting I found I could attach the holster to the breast strap on my backpack, where it held my firearm close to my chest and readily accessible.

Didn't know FA made one, would love to see a picture.  Made my own years ago, that's definately the way to carry a handgun.

If you visit the FA website they have some holster pictures.  If the cross draw is not pictured, it will look like the standard holster.  Not really fancy, but well built, and reasonably priced.

Lots of good reasons for crossdraw. Doesn't interfear with a slung rifle: lets a long barrel gun ride easier when driving a vehicle; you can draw with your left hand; you can use two hands to deal with safety straps.

I used to carry crossdraw for LE and a lot of other cops thought I was crazy, they thought it would be too easy for someone to take your gun away. I thought the opposite. I can see the guy in front of me I worried more about the guy who sneaks up behind me in a crowd.
