My hog load is my deer load is my do everything load. Sierra 130 SSP over 35.5 grains W748 but then that bullet has been discontinued and unless you have them on hand like I do you sure can't use it. I picked up a life time supply of them for me.

Some have gone to the Nolser 120 or 140 BT and seem happy. I've never been able to get enough velocity with 140s to suit me but on hogs it might work well. I think tho I'd rather use a PT for them and if you can push it fast enough to expand the 140 PT would do well. Of course for that matter so would any 140 you could get up to at least 2250 fps. Sadly I never got that at what I felt were safe pressures in mine.

Thanks Graybeard >> right now I'm shooting 139 gr hornadys with H335 at 31 gr I'm getting averageing 2120 FPS. I had it at the range today an the accuracy is unbeleaveable, at 100yds group of 4 shoots can be covered with a 50 cent piece.

Chopper,

I've too have been using 139 Hornadys.  I  use the SST variety.  Hornady told me that they start to expand at 1500 fps and have a BC of .486.  I use a max load of W748 and CCI primers with great success (IMR 3031 and 4064 have done well too but not as well).    The velocity is around 2150 fps across a Pro Chrony and accuracy has been outstanding with 3/8 inch groups being the best.  I've taken numerous deer with this load and penetration has been outstanding.  I've not taken a hog with it but I would have no reservations trying. BTs are great but I can't see paying for them when 139 SSTs do so well.

Merry Christmas!
