December 22, Good morning GBO
« on: December 22, 2008, 09:52:34 AM »
Good Morning every one.  Minus 4 and snowing.  I shoveled the walks yesterday and when went out this morning and thre was 4 inches of snow on the walks.  Shovled them off aqgain and now the they have another inch.  Went to the post offcie and never seen an out county plate any where, and for sure nothing from out of state.  This snow sure helps control urban sprawl.

We were at 2 above this morning, not to bad till after noon.  Then the temp stayed about the same and started snowing again.  On top of the snow-pack and ice, traffic was a bit slow coming home tonight.  Had a nice surprise when I got home, package from the gunsmith with 2 barrels in it.  Had bought a barrel that was to be a 7-30 Waters, but had been bored with a 308 bore.  Needless to say it gave the prettiest key-holes I ever saw!  Had it re-chambered to 30-30AI to save it from being a tent stake and sent another barrel in to be done in the 7-30 Waters.  Hope the weather clears up so I can play with the 7-30 W., have a barrel to screw on a 94 Win. in that, but they say they have to cut the barrel to get it off.  Shoots to good to treat it like that, so still have the barrel and the 30-30 Win 94.  Stay warm and safe.  DP

Why do they have to cut it to get it out of a 1894 Winchester?

I have never seen a 94 that had to be cut out. And I have pulled a few.
