I noticed on the HR1871 web site it states that for the SC1-414 combo (44 Mag and 12GA) package:

"*Note: The frame of the 44 Mag. (SC1-414) and the 357 Mag. (SC1-324) cannot be fit with any other centerfire rifle barrel. They are capable of being fit with accessory shotgun barrels, but their rifle capability is limited to the specific 44 or 357 Mag. barrel that it is shipped on the gun."

Is this also a true statement for the SB2-044 44 Mag Handi Rifle?

Thanks,
Rob

I do not believe so. The combos use a SB1 shotgun frame that has a smaller firing pin hole I think, the rifle uses a SB2 frame that should be able to be fitted with any rifle barrel, hence the SB2-044 designation. Of course, I could be incorrect, but I pretty sure that is right. HTH, Billy

The SB2 44 mag is no longer made, only the SB1, but those that were made up until the end of 2007 were on SB2 rifle frames, there may even be some 2008 SB2 44mags, but that remains to be seen.
