Encore 15 inch .308

The local gun shop has an Encore barrel, 15 inch blue in .308,  Includes a mounted TC weaver style scope mount and walnut forend.  Also rear adj. sight comes with.   Normal wear from opening only, appears clean and well cared for.  They want $149, is this a fair price?

Thanks in advance for opinions, suggestions.

I'll take it if you don't want it.  Tell them to ship it to me and I'll give you a finders fee. :grin: Seriously, I would buy it if I wanted that caliber (which I do).  Send it this direction if you decide you don't want it.  It is a very fair price if it is in good condition.

I'm about to pay $470 + Shipping for the same Encore in 243 15" with out any Scope, Rings or Mount. The 308 is a great cartridge, but a heavy hitter at both ends ................ a great cartridge. Check it over with the white glove look, but sounds like great buy for anyone wanting a 308.

I'll be paying more if I go Custom Barrel & Stainless S - then come the Scope, Mount & Rings ........... and all the other extras - LOL. Getting HOOKED ON ENCORE.

You are paying $470 for frame and barrel, new I assume?  The $149 is for the barrel only with forend, scope base and both sights.

HappyHunter:  Much less of a good deal there, and I woudn't want sights on my scopped barrel ( The old personal Likes-dislikes senario ).

If you're interested in that cartridge, $149 is certainly a fair price for it.  I sure like my 15" .308.
