Recommendations on a Bullet Sizer
« on: January 25, 2009, 01:52:24 PM »
I am about to buy a bullet sizer and would like some recommendations. I've heard Stars are great, but what about RCBS and Lyman? I will be mainly casting handgun plain base bullets.

The upside:

Nothing beats a Star.

The downside:

They're spendy.

I had a RCBS lam2 I spent more time cleaning lube off the base of bullets than it was worth. I then got a star with out a doubt it was the best thing I had ever done in this hobby. very seldom clean lube off the base of bullets now put the bullet in nose first and you don't have to touch it again in the lubing proses. I too hear Stars are good but have never actually laid eyes on one so have no clue personally. I've used both Lyman and RCBS. I gave away my Lyman and have two RCBS that should tell you my preference.

star is hands down the way to go if you can afford it. I could never go back to a lyman or rcbs.
