I shoot them in a 6 BR for my Hunter gun, just a fun gun that I threw together but it's so much FUN. At 2500 fps I take about 1/2 of the rams I hit with it.

Bulletman thanks for the reply do you think if I load it to 2800-2900 fps it would do better than 50% ?  ;D

It'd help, and help out the bbl maker  ;D------- you'll get more than 50% probably yes. On an easy ram range you'll get most of them. At Raton I usually get 80% with that gun, the dang thing got me into AAA class believe it or not.

I use the .243 Win with 115 DTAC for HP Silhouette.  At Atglen, PA, a load of 33 gns. of Varget, 2660 fps, seems to work pretty well on rams.  I think there is a tendency to try to shoot these bullets too fast, resulting in bullet "blowups", targets left standing, and burned out barrels.  Remember, there are 30 targets to hit before you need to worry about losing 1 or 2 rams.  A CPT load of 30 Varget, 2470 fps, will help a barrel last forever.  I think the light recoil will do more for improving your score than anything.  Save the .260's and 7-08's for the Nationals.  Us old guys with lots of arthritis and too many hot loads under the belt really appreciate the 115 DTAC.  GabbyJs

I have two Hart 7" twist barrels, and 1 Shilen Select Match #5 contour with an 8" twist.  I checked the 8" twist and found it to be right at 8".  It shoots a 5 shot group better than 3/4 minute at 200 yds. with the lighter load.  The ram load seems to shoot close to 1/2 minute at 200 yds.  I have another Shilen Match #4 contour barrel that I'm going to use on a Rem. 700 long action for hunter class.  Plan to start cutting on that one tomorrow.
