Tell stuff??  Help me out here....

I have a Turk and the thing shoots FABULOUSLY...Way better than it should or reputation would allow.  I had 3 at one time in my gatheirng stage and 1 of them couldn't hit a bull in the rear from 1 foot.  It would put 1 bullseye then 14 shotgun pattern and 1 in the bullseye...it was my freakiest rifle.......come to think of it I got it free WITH purchase of something else.

In summary if your looking for a cheaper end Mauser that is 8mm this would do the trick.  If I recall correctly doesn't Wideners still have 24/47's?  I have on of those as well and truth be told would go with the Yugo platform if price were the same.  Yugo M48 is also a nice 8mm variant.

In the mauser category you can go ALL DAY LONG and not repeat yourself in Mausers.

I felt the turks were just too long for me to enjoy. But the couple I had did shoot well.

I'd lean towards a 24/47 or m48, like mentioned. Readily available, relatively cheap, and shoot great usually.

A german k98 would be nice, if youi can find a good deal on one. My k98 is the best milsurp shooter I've got.

They are great as long as you do not have to carry them very far. :o
Capable of excellent accuracy at some pretty long ranges. With properly
loaded ammo. I do not know of anything I would not hunt with one as far as
big game goes.
