Decent price for a Ruger lever action in .44 mag

Friend has a line on one but doesn"t know what a fair price would be. Help appreciated.

They were fairly high new but used they seem to be all over the place.   If its nice i'd say 300 would be a bargain price, 400 would be very realistic.   Just from my snooping at tags.   SN

I enjoyed one for a few years in 44 and had a 4x scope of some kind on it.  Bambi and piggie did not fair well when it was around.  Fun to shoot but always seamed sort of an odd configuration in the lever catagory.  No complaints however.  Good shooting , Gary
