Dry Rub recipes
« on: February 09, 2009, 01:31:44 PM »
Everyone who has smoked a brisket or pork ribs or even a venison roast has probably used a dry rub that they feel made the meat so much more delicious.

For me I like

1/2 cup salt ;)
1 quarter cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon ground garlic
1 tablespoon of ground onion
2 tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons ground pepper
2 teaspoons of cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon of thyme
1 tablespoon of cumin
1 teaspoon of nutmeg
mix together and rub on the night before wrapped in saran wrap.
Great for ribs and brisket .
Some like to coat  the meat in mustard to get it to stick better(cant taste the mustard after smoking) ;)
Thank God for the woods and the critters that inhabit them
