lightening protection
« on: January 12, 2010, 06:30:04 PM »
Maybe a stupid question but here goes. I live in sw louisiana here we get thunder storms right off the gulf of mexico. Sometimes the lightening doesn't amount to much but when things get going it can get pretty hairy down here. Not that familiar with setups regarding tranceivers and antennas so a few suggestions or what works well are appreciated. Frank

A grounding rod around 3ft long, pounded into the ground, attached to antenna.
