Hi, Alan:  I've got one topped with a 2-7 Redfield (old eyes).  I shoot cast wheel weights from a Lee 405 mould on top of 47.0 grains of IMR 3031.  Also use 325 grain bullets cast from an RCBS mould with 54.0 grains of IMR 3031.  The 405's are a shoulder-full from the bench, but they hit with authority!  Both will group within 2 inches at the 100 yard line--but not to the same POI.  I just stick with the 405's--my hog gun.  Enjoy that #3.

mine has been fitted with a fairly solid pad. Guess that, although "altered",,it's for the best! Prettiest wood I've seen on a #3. Most are very plain.
