I was reading over some old issues of Black Powder Cartridge News and in a old back issue there is mention of shooting a 45-60 cartridge in a 45-70 rifle........ The gist was that it worked fine and the "jump up" from the shorter case length to the refilling wasn't an "issue" in accuracy out to 100 yards or so. Does this sound right?
?
Again I believe in ONLY shooting the correct ammo out of ANY rifle but the thought did cross my mind that IF....(big assume here
)...that IF this were a safe practice that this would be a reduced 'recoil' load for someone either just starting out or just for plinking with ones favorite Buffalo Classic. I ask Only because I do not know. I would NEVER try something without first seeking sound advice......so I ask.
