Well I finally got out today and shot this combo. I was extremely impressed by the BH 209, muzzleloaders dream as far as residue. Shot 9 times and loaded as easy the 9th as with a clean bore. 50 yd shots were dead center of the target. Shot 2 with 100 grains and 2 with 110. All within an inch or so, 3 of 4 better than 1". Moved it out to 100 yds and it didn't group nearly as well. All shot high from 2" to 6" and right 2". According to ballistic calc they should have dropped 2". This was with 110 grains. They weren't tumbling, but something was up, may have to drop down powder charge. I was a little supprised at the low velocity, slower than 777. With 110 grains they only were 1875 fps, 20' off the muzzle. I was using Winchester 209's so maybe I should try some Federals. Luckily I have 5 months to play around until my Colorado hunt, although I may go broke by then shooting this stuff though....
On a better note, took my 6 year old out turkey hunting this morning and cracked a nice tom. I think he's hooked!
