Can anyone read the marks on this cannon?

Someone forwarded something that was fwd to them, no idea where it started or where it is, but I'd like to know the markings to see if it has been accounted for in the Registry:

I am unable to read the markings. But, the photo looks familiar. I recall finding it on the web sometime back.

I believe it was a layer in CA who wanted a cannon. So, to his wife's surprise he ended up coming home with a pair of Mt. Howitzers.....

Ok, here's the story. http://juliegoddessoftheinternet.com/?p=183#comments
If you make it idiot proof, then, someone will make a better idiot.

Thanks.  Can't be CA though, look at the snow outside, and brick house next door with stone foundation, not many of those in CA.
