Well, I got a trigger job done by Charles Reynolds at Unique Gunsmithing here in Phoenix. I didn't think the trigger was that bad before, but what do I know, I'm still a n00b. But after the trigger job, man, is that thing crisp. Can't wait to go try it out this weekend. Will let you all know how it goes.

I also had a trigger job done by my gunsmith and its set at 2.5 lbs. and it is sweet and I do mean sweet. Cost me 50.00, I don't know why everyone is rushing out to purchase an aftermarket trigger group.

ALL of my rifles have trigger jobs done. On some rifles I have them set at 2.25, 2.5, and 3.0 pounds.

The only rifles that I own that do not have trigger jobs are my Tikkas - and that's because they are so wonderful, that I adjusted them myself and they are even nicer than any of my other rifles that DO have trigger jobs.

Gotta love those Tikkas!

You would think you get paid everytime you type the word Tikka in your posts.

You sure you don't work for them?

I'm not sure what the trigger pull is on the rifle, I forgot to check it before I left his shop, but I am definately impressed.. (I was BSing with him for an hour, and forgot to check) I think it will definately help my accuracy. I would have to think it'd be hard to have jerked the trigger with the way its set now.

Lord I hate to say this, but Zachary is right, my Tikka doesn't need a trigger job. Its great the way it came except I did lighten up the trigger pull, but that was all I had to do.

Maybe we should rename this forum from Bolt Action Rifles to Tikka Action Rifles

You guys just crack me up.

You know, maybe I should call Tikka and tell 'em to give me a new rifle or two. I know about 8 or 9 people that bought Tikkas at my suggestion and each and every one of them have been VERY happy.

You know that I'm still laughing. :-D Thank God for Laughter - it really is the best medicine for all of life's problems. :-D

I did shoot my friend's tikka, and liked it, I just didn't have the money at the time, and the Savage was a better deal for me and in my price range. (Same friend stumbled across a killer deal)

Ok told you guys I'd be back after I shot it.
The trigger is really nice. However, I guess I'm still having some problems jerking the durn thing. I have to work on myself as well as the rifle.. May still break down and get a muzzlebrake on it.

Well, for $84 I bought 2 Sharp Shooters Supply triggers for my two rifles and they are set at 12oz and 20oz Very Crisp with Zero creep and they seem to be impossible to get to slamfire. On some rifles there is a considerable amount of fitting that will need to be done on the trigger guard. Still, well worth the money.

For another Savage rifle I bought a Rifle Basix trigger for $72. I set it to 2.25#. The local smith charges $60 for a Savage Trigger adjustment. I figured it was worth spending $12 more to not have to take the gun to the shop wait a couple of weeks for it to get done and then go back and pick it up. Takes less than 15m to get set up.

although I understand that for a short period of time, the Savage triggers werent adjustable, I know the older ones were and so was my newer mod 12 in 223...it just so happenes I kept the instructions included with my original Savae 110....it has 4 adjustments and can be adjusted down as low as you want to go almost....my newer mod 12 only went down to about 2 1/2 #'s......fully adjustable for pounds of pull, creep, over travel, plus one for making sure the saftey is adjusted right.... I understand that they wont include that info with the newer rifles, as they have to protect the DUMMIES from themselfs and not get sued....anyway I fail to see the need to spend the dollars on something that is already good...will save my money for the new ones that really need it, the Ruger #1's for example....ww1

All 3 of my savages (10fp in 223, 110 fp in 308 and mark2 lv) are about 1 to 1.5 lbs with the saftey still working and they were drop in replacements from rifle basix.
