Blaming American Gun Owners for Mexico Crisis
« on: March 25, 2009, 11:37:44 AM »
Congress has jumped in with both feet when it comes to the crisis of violence in Mexico, and the usual suspects are once again blaming American gun owners and American gun laws.  This week there were two more hearings, one in the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Drugs and Crime, and the other in the House Foreign Affairs subcommittee on Western Hemisphere.  In both cases, anti-gun politicians such as Senators Dick Durbin and Dianne Feinstein, and Congressman Eliot Engel, blamed American gun laws for the crisis.

In the House subcommittee hearing, Chairman Engel made it clear from the onset he viewed this issue from one perspective: guns. His solution to the ultra violent Mexican drug cartels is to blame American gun owners and American gun laws.

Kristen Rand, the Legislative Director of the Violence Policy Center, repeated the unsubstantiated claim that 90% of guns seized from the cartels come from the U.S., blamed America's gun laws and called for BATFE to use the broadest possible interpretation of the "sporting purposes" test to ban a much larger class of semi-auto rifles.

FW Note:  Wipe the crap out of your eyes folks, this is going to be the big next stick used to disarm America.  They've tried doing it "for the children" and pointing out that civilians only need guns for "sporting purposes".  Now they're going to start crowing about "national security".  They've corrupted the 2nd Amendment by inserting the language of 'reasonable regulation" into a decision, and now they are accusing American gun-owners of supplying guns to Mexican drug gangsters.

To inhabitants of the border states:  The BATFE is flooding these states with agents, hundreds of them, for the single purpose of entrapping American citizens with claims that they have violated some real or imaginary gun law.  BE AWARE THAT AGENTS OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ARE  SLITHERING ABOUT WITH THE SINGLE MISSION OF DOING HARM TO AMERICAN GUN-OWNERS.  They will do anything necessary to incriminate and associate you with some illegal activity and to hang a tag on you for selling drugs, smuggling guns, or for engaging in "terrorist" activity without regard to truth or any form of justice.

 :(
They may talk of a "New Order" in the  world, but what they have in mind is only a revival of the oldest and worst tyranny.   No liberty, no religion, no hope.   It is an unholy alliance of power and pelf to dominate and to enslave the human race.

So, here's the real truth behind the gun problem in Mexico.  Leave it to our politicians to make up stats as they see fit.

Maybe the U.S. government should quit selling arms to the rest of the world. We sell to third world countries' goernments which change administrations faster than a teen-ager changes girlfriends. Where do you think the American-made weapons end up? The highest bidder, which in most cases are the cartels.

Lets bump the offer up and give them 10 mexicans for one gun. I still think they would be getting the stinky end of the stick.
