Where to buy JB Compound or Flitz

Does anybody know where I could locally buy JB compound or Flitz? 

Does walmart, autozone, or anywhere like that have it?

I know I can purchase it online, but would like it faster.

Flitz probably but not likely JB. Some gun stores likely will have JB but for sure not all will and not if they are small stores. Flitz would be easier to pick up locally and JB likely will need to be ordered.

I agree with Bill - Look for Flitz in the kitchen area -you know with the pots and pans type polish. It is sold as a polish for pots and pans. I ordered my JB on line and bought Flitz at a local department store - in the kitchen stuff.

BTW I have found that just about any metal polish will work. I have had good luck with Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish. It says it is perfect for all metals. I bought that and used it until I discovered Flitz in the last place I looked I found that Mothers Polish worked about as well as JB Bore Bright or Flitz.

Wal-Mart will usually have either Flitz or Maas in  the kitchen cleaners area.  My local Wally carries Maas, and one across town carries Flitz.

I know Cabela's carries the JB in store.  I don't know if you have a Cabela's nearby though

I've seen flitz in a few supermarkets also, right with the cleaning supplies.

Simichrome is also sold in supermarkets, but any fine metal polish will work, see Bore Polishing in the FAQs and Help sticky, this has all been discussed before.

I am not having much luck locally finding this.  I can't seem to find JB, Flitz, Maas, Mothers Mag, or Simichrome.  I have a couple other places to try. 

I am finding a brand called Brasso in a lot of places.  Will this be okay to use?

Not sure about Brasso, but for Simichrome go to a motorcycle dealer or repair shop.

Finally got some polish.  I appreciate all of your help.

One quick question. 

Once you use the polish, you then clean the barrel with solvent, and then use a clean patch to dry, correct???

I want to verify what I read in the sticky.  How much should you polish?

If by some chance you have a color cased reciever.  Flitz will take it off.  Don't ask how I know but I had a really shinny top strap on a Colt Gen 2 SAA.  And have used it to get rid of some on an old Ithaca Flues that was going to be re furbished.
It's fine on blue on other treatments.

Everyone has differing opinions, but I make about 10-15 passes forward and back after you see the polishing compound starting to get darker, which means its getting steel in it from removal.

Good points Woodduck. Some things I've noticed is that it will put a slight shine on a Matt finish, so be careful there. It will also put a slight shine on a satin stainless finish. I wouldn't use it on my Ruger Anniversary Flattop because I figured it would take the fake gold lettering off the barrel (although some folks can't wait to get rid of the lettering). But Flitz sure brings out the luster on anything with a blue or deep blue finish. I've never used in it the bore, but I've read good reviews from people who have.
