If you thought Red Dots were a new idea??
« on: August 25, 2003, 05:27:23 PM »
I found this in a 1949 Gun Digest #4 it really supprised me as I knew Weaver had a red dot sight a while back that was not that reliable or sturdy the new ones are a lot better but this really supprised me. Jim
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

Wow, 1949....that was a looooonnnng time ago.  Heck, that was about 20 years before I was even born. :)

I can only imagine what hunters thought of a "red dot" type scope back then - they must of thought that it was some kinda Star Wars type thingamajig.  (Oooops, Star Wars came out about 20 years later. :))
