romanian dragunov
« on: October 08, 2008, 05:08:02 PM »
The romanian dragunov's i've seen come with 10 round mags. Does anyone know if there are 25 or 30 round mags for these, and where can I find them?

I myself have only seen the 10rd mags. Been wanting one real bad but the 750-800 is killing me. I remeber when they were 450-500 loaded. Good luck on search Don't think they are available.

I have one with the ten round mag. I haven't seen larger ones either.

I think it would make the mag really long.  If you want one you may be able to modify a BREN 303 brit mag.  It too was designed for a large rimmed round.

Nope!  Nothing larger than the 10 rounder for the Droogies - too large due to the rimmed cartridge.  Mikey.

It's a sniper rifle...no need for a 30 round mag as it would make the rifle too clumsy and heavy for it's intended purpose.   Magazine capacity alone does not define a great weapon.

Gunblade, I agree mag cap doesn't make a great weapon. I was thinking of taking a romanian dragonov and chopping it down with an ak stock. I'm not sure I would call a ROMANIAN dragonov a sniper rifle. It's cheap enough to consider converting to a weapon that could be used as one would use an ak-47. I like the idea of the more powerful caliber, the extended range and accuracy. The 10 round mags wouldn't cut it for an ak-47, anymore than my conversion.

I know a fellow that used a Bren magazing and welded it up->

Anyhow, I just picked up my PSL yesterday and it must have been "mothballed" as it was made in 1980.  ;D

If you don't have one of these yet the Russian Izhmash Saiga will be offered in the 7,62x54r round by the middle of '09 so i been told by a very good source.  I'm hoping they will offer it in both barrel lengths too 16" and 22".  Due to the better accuracy and russian quality its my choice but i'm not sure of the price yet.  The saiga's in 223 and in 308 are awesome in accuracy.

There is a russian izhmash tiger in 7,62x54r too but its not being imported yet.
