Californias number 1 big game animal in the state is  Sus Scrofa (pigs to most) .We used to just have a license to hunt pigs then it was changed to  buy a book  of pig tags for cheap but the the state kept getting more and more greedy so now instead of 10 or 5 we pay $18.65 per tag. Nonresidents  1 day hunting license is $17.75,2 day is $38.85 & a year is $134.95 pig tag for nr is $62.20 but there is no limit and the season runs 365 days. Most of the pigs are in the Condor Zone where the antis won with help from the F&G commission & gov & banned all centerfire lead ammo, one must use nontoxic nonlead ammo . One needs to go to the Ca Dept  of Fish & Game web site and check on all of the approved ammo or bullets allowed to be used in the condor zone  .

Yeah, but are you coming back to finish what you started?  I will let you know when those piney rooters return.  Then I will want and need some thinning help.

45-70.gov,

The last day of deer season I saw no deer or hogs.  Just 13 turkey hens and immature gobblers eating sorghum seeds from my Big Field for 2.5 hours until they departed for thier roost.  That's a good way to end a deer season.

Hog hunting remains 24/7/365 but they have to participate.  I believe that the falling water on the St Johns River following the extended flooding from Tropical Storm Fay has them dispersed across the river flood plain.  I will let you know when they return.
