A Long Fall Archery Deer and Turkey Season
« on: February 04, 2009, 12:00:42 PM »
:) Howdy!  I usually hunt in Arkansas a few days each year usually during the muzzleloader or firearm season.  I noticed that the Fall Archery Season for deer and turkey seems to be very long.  Do most archers still have good luck after about January 1st?  Is there much success?   Your views appreciated.
Thanks!

Happy Trails!

The serious hunters are probably out hunting and may not respond to your question.  I've never had much luck, late season bow hunting but others may differ.  When I lived down at Mena, I heard of a guy on the AR/OK line that was consistently taking trophy class bucks in January.  A lot of the antlered bucks have already been taken where I hunt.   I have shot a few young deer to eat but I was careful not to stick a buck with dropped antlers or a pregnant doe.
