Need help on Sendero purchase

I am looking at buying a used sendero and a couple ?'s come to mind.
The sendero in 300 saum has a fluted stainless barrel and nowhere on the gun does it say it's a
sendero!!!    The other thing is the price $750 bare gun.    Is this right or really high?
There just happened to be a 270 sendero right next to it with a heavy matte black BB also
used with an old burris 3x9 and the price was $800.  The 270 says sendero on the barrel.
What does eveybody think about the guns not compareing the calibers.

I have the new Sendero SFll in 7MM mag. I just checked it and it doesn't say sendero on it anywhere. The serial # starts off with an s. I don't know if that designates sendero.

I got the .264 Win Mag Sendero SFII.  It don't say Sendero anywhere.  I believe on all my 700's it has Remington MODEL 700 on the receiver.  On the barell will have Remington Arms and address. The all black Sendero is out of production, both those two prices are OK.

I believe *some* of the earliest all black Senderos that were introduced in the early to mid 90's had Sendero stamped on them. The 2nd type of Sendero(SF) that had the fluted stainless barrel did not have the word on them, and as you can see, the latest Sendero SF IIs also do not have the word anywhere on them.

The all black originals are like all Senderos, excellent rifles. I'd love to have one! I'd love to have 1 of each model and someday it will happen. I won't be happy until I have all 3 in my safe.

Still not sure which one to buy    I have both calibers in other guns.
Doesn't everybody wish they could have a range session with each gun before the purchase! 
I know that would make me happy.  What year did they stop making the all black 270
labeled sendero?

This is going by memory due to being a Sendero fan so...

Original all black Sendero: '92-'96
2nd model Sendero (SF): '98 - '02
3rd model Sendero (SF II): '05 - current

Is there any quality difference between them? Given they are the same stocked rifle they have two different balances. Guess if it's designed to be shot off a rest that doesn't matter anyway.
Which one would you guys pick?

There shouldn't be any quality differences. Neither of the ones you're looking at have the palm swell on the stock so that's not an issue. The stainless model will weigh 1/4 lb less due to the fluting.

You either lean towards the matte black of the old or the stainless look of the newer one. I personally couldn't make that choice and if both were presented to me, I'd probably be going home with both. What about the calibers? Which do you prefer? Can't go wrong with the .270, I'm not 2 familiar with the 300 saum.

I have shot the 270 my whole life but have just been introduced to the 300 rem. saum
two years ago its a DRT on any whitetail.  Don't think I wouldn't get um both if I wouldn't
have to sleep on the couch for a month or so    Then there is no way I could sneak $500 or more
worth of optics.

I will add to the Sendero confusion;

In 1998 on a dealers rack were several Sendero rifles in fluted stainless. Some of them had the "Lawyer/Warning" stamped on the barrel while others only had "Remington Arms" on the barrel.
I purchased a 7mm stw without the Lawyer/Warning. I never understood the difference in the barrels. Rumors were the barrels were made in different places or possible made by Remington suppliers??
