AA1680 loads?
« on: January 26, 2009, 11:08:17 AM »
Looking to purchase some 1680 for 180gr and up 357 maxi loads.  Just wondering if any of you guys use this powder for any other calibers, and how was the accuracy and performance.

This is the best powder I found for my Maxi!!! Now it is the only powder I use for it.

I dont like to post loads as that is how mistakes happen, but my load is in the books.

It is also the velocity champ in the .375WCF.  I have used it in the .45LC for 300-grain cast bullets, great revolver silhouette accuracy.  Also excellent in the .25-20, the .32-20, and with light bullets in the .444 Marlin.

1680 is just the bee's knees for 256 Winchester magnum under a 60 gr Hornady. I shoot it thru a Marlin 62.  It gives 2750 fps and 1" groups.  Burns cleanly in my gun.
